How much fun is this? How many times as food bloggers do we post something only to let it be catalogued in the back of our minds and re-visited upon on a rare occasion?
It seems as if this game is being circulated from one food blog to the next and I must admit that I do love to see what other food blogger's deem as their favorite post or most successful. It has been a lot of fun.
I was recently "tagged" by Ryan over on Ryan Bakes, which means it is now my time. How the game works is there are 7 categories that you link to a post that you have already written and then you "tag" 5 other blogger friends to do the same.
Ready to play?
1. Most Beautiful: Strawberry Pie with Basil Mascarpone Whipped Cream
I absolutely LOVE this pie and it truly does taste just as good as it looks. I chose this one as the most beautiful mainly because I just loved the saturation of color. Every time I look at it, I have an instant craving, that I must wait around until Strawberry season next year to indulge in.
2. Most Popular: Individual Blueberry Cobblers
This was my first recipe that I had submitted into Tasty Kitchen and it was featured on the home page that very day! I was ecstatic to say the least. That mixed in with someone on Tumblr getting a hold of it and Food Gawker, and this post was on a roll!
3. Most Controversial: Bourbon Braised Pork Belly with Creamy Stone Ground Grits & Garlicky Kale
I chose this as my most controversial because it was the one that kept getting stomped on. I absolutely LOVE the site Cookbook Karma and after I submitted it, I was told that, "While it may have tasted wonderful, it doesn't look very appetizing." Mix that in with another fellow Facebooker who stated, "Even better with parsnip puree" and Yikes! I mean what's with all the non-pork belly love?
4. Most Helpful: How to Make Puff Pastry & Cheese Straws
While I do have a section entitled "Cooking Class" with a few "how-to's", I found this one seems to be the most helpful because not many people make their own puff pastry and sometimes plain directions can be a bit confusing. This post has laid it all out complete with step by step instructions for creating flakey and delicious puff pastry.
5. Surprisingly Successful: How to Make Homemade Pasta and Crab Ravioli
I chose this as my surprisingly most successful because it was only my fourth post EVER on Gastronome Tart and it was my first post on Foodbuzz and it hit Top 9. At the time since it was my first post on Foodbuzz, I really didn't realize the significance of hitting Top 9 (A daily roundup of the Top 9 Food blog posts of the day) I have not hit top 9 since this post and have been chasing it ever since. It is still surprising to me how many people still click on this post and the majority seem to be from the UK.
6. Post that didn't get the attention it deserved: Vanilla Bean Sandwich Cookies with Nutella Ganache
I absolutely loved this post of waxing poetic all about Croatia and Europe. I mean Nutella first made it's appearance overseas anyhow. I understand that while we all do love Nutella that on the blogosphere, it does seem to be overdone from time to time. However, these cookies were amazing and hey, I was might proud of this photo. When Foodgawker denied it (exposure off...really? Histogram was right on Foodgawker!) I was bummed to say the least. Then I got over it :)
7. Post you are most proud of: Caribbean Inspired Menu
I made this dinner as part of a celebration of my fifth wedding anniversary to the hubby. We got married over in Grand Cayman and our wedding cake was rum cake. Mighty delicious indeed! I wanted to bring a bit of the island into our home and this menu (thanks to Eric Ripert's super mind) was absolutely perfect!
Now here is the fun part. There are only 2 rules. 1 Link per category and 2. Tag 5 fellow Food bloggers!
Let the tagging begin!!!!

Have fun!!!
